Rule Clarification from
Jack Fleming:
1.There
is a 5 minute grace period after which if a team cannot field a team of 5 players the game is a
forfeit. After the game is forfeited the teams may use the time
allotted for the game to scrimmage if they wish. The scrimmage will not be
officiated by the officials assigned.
2. In
the event that only one official is present for the start of the game both
coaches must agree in writing prior to the start of the game that they will
allow the game to be officiated by one official, provided that the official
agrees to do the game alone. Reason for this is that our rules state we
abide by WIAA rules and WIAA rules state that must have two
officials--liability issue.
3)
It is not up to the officials when there is a running clock. Our rules
clearly state that we have a running clock in the 4th quarter with a 17 point
lead. )It has been brought to our attention that some schools think that
it is up to the officials when to have a running clock.)
